**Lead Applied AI Specialist (Remote)**

We're hiring a L**ead Applied AI Specialist** to drive AI in a high‑load document processing product. You'll work with 3 strong AI engineers set technical direction, and build production systems end‑to‑end.

**What you'll do:**
- Design & deploy agentic pipelines, RAG, multimodal document processing (OCR, PDF parsing)
- Build scalable inference with vLLM, batching, caching, streaming
- Work with LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic) + custom models (PyTorch, HuggingFace)
- Own quality, latency, cost, observability (Prometheus, Grafana)
- Ship features – from experiments to production, with CI/CD (Docker, Cloud Run, Terraform)

**What we're looking for:**
- Strong Python, microservices
- Production experience with model serving (vLLM or similar) – you've deployed your own work
- Hands‑on experience with agentic systems
- Deep knowledge of RAG, retrieval, embedding pipelines
- Experience guiding other engineers (no babysitting – you're a guru)
- Autonomous, great communicator, fluent English

Nice to have: GCP, OpenTelemetry, OCR/PDF expertise, inference optimization
